Now the website...not so informative. I had really no expectations set, only reading what was to offer on the german wikipedia. Not to mention it's only 35 minutes away from me..and not 1+ hours like many of the more impressive Schlosser or Burgen in NRW. I was just happy to be out and about discovering something new.
I turn down the small Burggasse, and saw...woo excitement!
There is no fee for the Schlosspark or to visit the small museum in side. The Schloss is actually owned by a power company, and the museum is over how the company operates within the area. You actually pass their huge mining operation on the Autobahn on the way down. You can't miss the gigantic machinery, and the power plants. Quite interesting. The other part of the Schloss houses a small art gallery (like most Schlosses). The Schosspark itself is nice, and very well kept! Quite beautiful. What a nice day!! Definitely recommend it. This Schloss gets a 9.8/10!!!
