The Perfect Schloss....schon erreicht?

What am I looking for in a Schloss or Burg?  Most people will think that my bar has been set at Neuschwanstein.  Yes, Neuschwanstein is impressive, but it's not my favorite - believe it or not!  *gasp*  That review comes later...but as of this moment, my favorite ones are moated...and this one is located actually not that far from where I currently dwell.

Everyone..I give you the Wasserschloss...Schloss Dyck - in Jüchen, Germany.

This Schloss has it all for me.  It's not just a Wasserschloss, but the building itself is just beautiful, it's Schlosspark is always manicured, and not to mention the history.  You feel like you are in a fairy tale or walking in a Jane Austin's novel - transported back in time.  Maybe the German Mr. Darcy will come out and meet you?  Who knows.  ;-)  but I do know you could marry him there. heehee ;-)

One might think that the entrance price is much, but it's worth it!  In the fall, every year, gives an event called  "Illumina."  I definitely recommend this.  The park is illuminated (of course ;) ) with works of art spread out.  It can be a great evening with friends!  You can also find the famous XMas markets there during Advent time.

This, for me, is the Schloss to beat!  The bar is high...so..let's see..the others...
